The World Around Me

The world around me is full of tears
Falling from the eyes of the faithful
Who struggle always to put things right
By blithely believing that it isn’t over yet

The world around me is full of fury
Pouring from the minds of morose mothers
Who tirelessly fight to make a repast
Out of the stand-still ill economy

The world around me saves the slum
By placing on their tables full-empty plates
Whilst filling their ears with promises
That are cloned and clouded by lies

The world around me laughs at us
As it buries the opportunities we work hard for
As it provides darkness darker than black
When we need light to avoid the ditch

The world around me is a sluggish snail
Too slow to lead us to the sea shore
Where we all yearn for and want to be
For patriots must not crave fruitlessly to the grave

Is this truly what the world should be?
A deaf sleeping dog on the mud
Is this truly what the world wishes us?
To continuously, furiously quetch out hate

If the world around me can actually see
The need to (atleast) repeat those words
Of the Creator:” Let there be light”
Then our cause to smile begins from there
